Fueled by passion, that spark, can become a blazing fire with a life of its own. This too is where we began. Copyright © the cause gallery 2007 Christy Feaver jewelry artist Our Story In the middle of 2007, there was a spark that happened as most do, between new friends with a common passion. On the artistically and spiritually inspiring island of Bali, the life paths of two women in their late twenties converged over a bit of friendly conversation and dinner. This spark ignited an awareness of common values, blessings, and inspirations, setting ablaze the concept of the cause gallery Christy Feaver, a jewelry artist from Whistler, Canada, sat down across from Nea Hildebolt, a jewelry designer from Missouri, USA, a happy accidental meeting caused by the friendship of their other companions. Christy had come to Indonesia on a month-long surfing trip. Nea had been living and working in Bali for the past 5 years. When Christy returned to Canada, her mind fertile with new ideas and directions, she did not leave the path towards the cause gallery . The two young women sent e-mails back and forth across the Atlantic. They agreed the universe favors speed, and so they began to take actions to make their little spark flame up and grow into something beautiful. As both Christy and Nea work with and are inspired by the jewelry art form, the first collection to be showcased in the cause gallery will be their collaborative jewelry collection. Both women have spent meaningful time and have had life-enhancing experiences in Indonesia, a country which, in the last few years, has been rocked by bombs, broken down by earthquakes and devastated by the 2003 tsunami. Christy and Nea will be tying their first collaborative collection to giving back to Indonesia. Our Mission As jewelry makers and artists, Christy and Nea are constantly inspired by the world around them to create beautiful wearable art, and recently both have felt the overwhelming need to connect their jewelry art to something else in the world that can make the lives of others better. They both wanted to connect their art and life's work to a cause. the cause gallery is where they will feature their jewelry for sale, part of the profits of which will be used to give back to their choice cause, THE BALI STREET CHILDREN PROJECT. This project is about giving street children hope through education, arts, music and surfing. Its important to Christy and Nea that other artists with shared values and life-blessings are able to participate and connect their art to whatever cause is close to their hearts. This website will be the platform from which artists around the world with global causes can both showcase their art to the world, but also connect art-lovers to the people, places, and causes these artists care about. Life, we believe, brings us exactly what and who we need at exactly the right times, but it is also up to us to recognize and grab a hold of what life gives us, otherwise we will miss it.
